Barbara Maria Sageidet is an associate professor in science, at the Department of early childhood teacher education, at the University of Stavanger, Norway. She has a background in ecology, botany, and paleoecology and a PhD in soil and environmental sciences.

Barbara has a research focus on science education and sustainability in (early childhood) education, and on human – nature interrelationships and interactions, both today (including children) and in prehistory (using soil micromorphology). Further, Barbara has an interest in environmental citizenship, urban childhood, gardens, urban sediments, inquiry learning, and other interdisciplinary and sustainability related themes.
